- How to use the Scalp Activation Derma Roller?
Step 1:Disinfect the Scalp Activation Derma Roller before each use. This can be done by simply cleansing the Scalp Activation Derma Roller with a sanitising agent of choice containing at least 70% ethyl alcohol. Recommend cleaning: Soak derma roller head in the disinfection liquid.
Step 2:For best use, gently roll the Scalp Activation Derma Roller back and forth slowly across the desired target area, rolling horizontally, vertically and diagonally. Repeat motions 3-5 times. This also helps you understand how the roller works so you can confidently roll later on.
Step 3:After rolling gently the target area leave the area to settle or apply a serum of choice.
If new to microneedling, it is encouraged to gradually incorporate the Scalp Activation Derma Roller into your hair care routine. When starting out with it, we suggest microneedling once a week. It can be used on all types of hair, wet or dry, and with or without product. Once your scalp has gotten used to it, you can increase the frequency gradually to 3 times a week.

How to know if you have (irreversible) hair loss?
Scarring is the destruction of the hair follicle, and apart from a few rare exceptions such as cicatricial alopecia, it typically doesn't occur in the early stages of hair loss. On the contrary, having bald spots where hair hasn't grown in a long time may be a sign of scarring and therefore irreversible hair loss. To get an accurate diagnosis, we always recommend seeking medical advice. Customers with a subscription including the Bio-Pilixin® Serum can also speak with our certified trichologist who can help them make the most of our products.
Stress
Stress-related hair loss tends to resolve on its own once the stressful event is over. That said, Bio-Pilixin®may be an effective aid in growing your hair back and maintaining its strength long term.
Genetics
Genetic hair loss cannot be prevented or reversed, but it may be delayed with the appropriate treatment when started in the early stages. Preliminary research on Bio-Pilixin®suggests that it can help balance the hair growth cycle, and therefore may be an effective aid in managing genetic hair loss.
GOT QUESTIONS? WE'VE GOT ANSWERS
- Can a hair or scalp serum be used directly afterusing the Scalp activation Roller?
A derma roller can be used to assist in complementing the serum. It has been suggested that derma rolling can lead to enhanced skin penetration, allowing a serum or active ingredient to penetrate deeper into the skin or scalp over topical application.
- How strongly should the Scalp Activation Roller be pressed against the scalp during use?
It's best to do it the way you feel comfortable. As a beginner of microneedling we recommend applying less pressure at first to create only superficial stimulations. If unsure, we always recommend seeking advice from your healthcare professional.
- Can I use microneedling on an inflamed/irritated scalp?
In instances such as this, we recommend asking your healthcare professional before starting the Scalp Activation Roller.
- Do I need to take special care of my scalp after microneedling (cream, keep away from dirt, sufficient air supply?)
Immediately after microneedling, the scalp should be kept as hygienic as possible and away from substances that may cause additional irritation.
- When is the best time for microneedling?
It is best to use the Scalp Activation Roller after washing your hair and two hours before activities. It is helpful to rest a little after the microneedling to provide the body with some rest so that it can focus on supporting the scalp.
