Is there a limit to traits in Stellaris? ›

Each species is limited to a maximum of 5 traits; traits that cost 0 points do not count against this limit but can only be acquired from certain origins, events, or ascension perks.

Leaders are select a trait to gain or upgrade every time they level up. At level 4, they can choose a Veteran Class and, at level 8, they can choose a Destiny Trait. Veteran traits are in the pool of possible traits, but only for the chosen Veteran Class.

LifespanEdit

lifespan of 80 years, which can be improved by certain species traits, leader traits, and technologies. After passing their guaranteed lifespan, leaders have a chance of dying every month. The probability is 0.2% per year that has passed since their guaranteed lifespan.

This small 'mod' (if you can even call it that) allows you to pick a maximum of 99 traits, it does not modify the points you get to spend on picks however, making it slightly less cheaty than my 'Traits Unlimited' mod!

For a whopping 3 points Very Strong provides a +40% bonus to army damage and a +5% bonus to worker jobs. Everyone asks the same question. "Why does it cost three points?" The Strong trait provides half the bonuses but is only one point and so the first option for improvement here will surprise no one.

Shroud preacher and truth seeker are destiny traits for leaders that makes so planets they govern produce 25% more resources from psionic pops. The requirement for the trait is "spiritualist". I'm on a spiritualist empire, with leaders that specifically carry the spiritualist ethic, on a psionically ascended empire.

This means your leaders will level up faster than they otherwise would, without sacrificing any other useful traits they might individually have. If you're looking to build up a strong pool of leaders as quickly as possible, this is one of your best options.

Pops start to decline when a planet is 25% overcrowded. Planet capacity is capped at 500, regardless of free housing or unblocked districts. Pops can go over 500 and will not stop growing (or decline) until the required housing exceeds available housing by 15% (or 25%).

2500 is considered endgame, but its not technically over until the endgame crisis around that time point is defeated. End game crisis can start as soon as 2400 by default. Totally conquering the galaxy and by eliminating all other empires ends the game for me.

Scion is a powerful origin and an excellent starting pick for new players, as there are many bonuses and few downsides (aside from being the subject of one of the most powerful empires in the galaxy).
